This is a family-oriented event perfect for everyone in the community--all age groups and fitness levels. You can choose to run, jog or walk approximately 2 or 4 miles in the beautiful setting of Mission Bay Park. There will be refreshments and entertainment; at the finish line we will gather for a rally that will include speakers and awards. Each registered participant receives a colorful, top-quality t-shirt.
Registration Cost:
Ages 6 and under (does not include t-shirt) Free
Ages 7-17 Online registration and day of event $15
Ages 18+ Online registration and day of event $25
Directions and Parking:
Take I-5 to the Clairemont Drive Exit, head West to East Mission Bay Drive (toward the Visitors Center), then right (North) to North Mission Bay Drive. Follow the signs to De Anza Cove. Drive until you see the blue-roofed pavilion and playground on the left. If you are entering the park from Mission Bay Drive, turn right (North) and drive until you see the blue-roofed pavilion and playground on the left. The address is 3000 Mission Bay Drive. You will also see signs for the Walk for Darfur.

There are three parking lots by De Anza Cove and parking is FREE in all of these lots and there is also parking on Mission Bay Drive. However, carpooling is recommended.
Unfortunately, dogs are NOT allowed on the Walk according to park rules.
What to Wear and Bring:
We recommend comfortable walking shoes, a hat, water, sunscreen and a light jacket so that you are prepared for a beautiful spring morning beside the bay--rain or shine! You may even want to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy after the Walk and Rally.
